IT/EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of equipment, including Optical Lab equipment and computers and other company electronic devices.

Candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following:

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Superior organizational and time management skills
Ability to work unsupervised
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
Understanding of basic marketing concepts.

Job responsibilities include:

Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems with Lab equipment
Communicate with suppliers/manufacturers for assistance in diagnosing and resolving Lab equipment issues.
Maintain a schedule for servicing computerized and mechanical equipment in VE Lab as well as stores
Conduct an audit of all computers store-wide, including:
- Putting together spreadsheet with serial numbers of all computers and where assigned
- Check status of all computers and make recommendations for replacement or upgrade.
Maintain an inventory of all electronic devices
Resolve intranet/network issues
Make recommendations to management for equipment upgrade
Research new technology and present to management to improve business efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Tertiary level education preferred.

2. A minimum of two (2) years experience within a similar environment
