Vacancy – Accounting Officer II
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Accounting Officer II is responsible for the accuracy of recording financial transactions,
accounts payable processing, reconciliations of accounts, preparation of monthly schedules
and enforce controls by ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to details and the ability to maintain
supplier relationships.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices
• Ensure timely processing of supplier payments within credit terms
• Monitor supplier account to ensure
• Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Perform bank reconciliation
• Record sales invoice and perform cash receipts entry
• Prepare journal entries
• Prepare account schedules and reconciliation
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree or equivalent certificate in accounting or ACCA level 2
• Minimum of 3 years of previous work experience in accounting
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
• Sufficient level of proficiency in the use of computer applications, excel and
accounting software
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills
• Information and task monitoring
• Problem analysis
• Teamwork
• Stress tolerance
