Mixologists serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to restaurant and bar patrons. They may serve beer and wine, make classic drinks or create new recipes for cocktails. Mixologists are also responsible for ensuring that their bars run smoothly and efficiently.
Ensuring compliance with sanitation, hygiene, health and safety legislation and organisational and quality requirements
Create cocktails using fresh ingredients
Understanding of, and proficiency in, compliance to HACCP Standards.
Assist with general bar tender duties to include taking and making reservations, taking and serving order, clearing and preparing tables bar area and bar storage
Understand the “ingredients” of cocktails and other drinks/ beverages to enable you to confidently deal with customer queries etc. and to assist and help train other team members
assist in the quality management of beverages
responsibly use resources and help control expenses
Should also possess the following SKAs:
Ability to work well in a high pressure environment;
2 years’ experience in a 4-5 Star/Luxury Restaurant or
Proficiency in preserving excellent levels of internal and external customer service
A focus on time and resource management
The ability to engage Bar Service staff through the fostering of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Software Applications
Compensation will be influenced by the successful candidate’s qualification, experience and skill.
