VACANCY NOTICE - Design and Construction Services Manager
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Design and Construction Services Manager, Water & Sewerage Company Inc. (WASCO).
To assist in the planning, organization, direction, and supervision of the Design and Construction Services Department and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
Manage the coordinated design of WASCO’s critical infrastructure and water and wastewater systems to ensure the optimized operational efficiency in delivering service to its customers;
Coordinate the establishment and review of design standards for WASCO’s critical infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability of its assets;
Manage and ensure quality assurance of all construction works executed by in-house resources and by external contractors in accordance with WASCO’s established standards;
Establish a project management body of knowledge to create structure and build capacity for the efficient management of Capital Projects at the utility;
Ensure that all projects are developed, designed, prioritized and managed from initiation to closure to achieve desired results;
Coordinate the establishment of guidelines for the design and/or review, approval and implementation of water reticulation and sewerage systems required for land developments.

Knowledge analyzing industry trends and conditions to inform various strategies;
Technical competency with a broad understanding of the technical issues and ability to keep up to date with new appropriate technology silks;
Extensive knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Products;
Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change;
Ability to lead through influence and to deliver results through others;
Should possess a high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and ability to work well under pressure;
Good collaboration, prioritization, and team working skill;
Conflict resolution skills.




Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering would be preferred.
Qualification in Project Management/Water or Wastewater Engineering would be considered an asset.
At least 5 years’ experience performing Civil Engineering Design.
Registered Engineer of St. Lucia would be preferred.
