VACANCY NOTICE - Corporate Communications Manager
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Corporate Communications Manager, Water & Sewerage Company Inc. (WASCO).
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing corporate communications strategies and plans to advance the Company’s corporate image. The candidate will also ensure that the full scope of corporate communications is integrated into the strategic and operational planning processes of the Company.




Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads corporate communications strategic planning and implementation of corporate communications strategy and plan.
Manages the Company’s public image by creating and implementing marketing campaigns (including community based activities) that promote brand recognition and a positive public perception.
Manages internal and external mass communications, media relations, social media matters and community relations.
Performs communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies/activities in relation to stakeholder’s needs and perceptions.
Consults with executive management to develop effective communication policies and strategies for management of crisis events.
Performs the role of a Spokesperson for the Company.
Coordinating and facilitating media interviews and other related engagements with senior company executives, including the logistical arrangements to support same.
Prepares press releases announcing new services or products, new recruitment, promotions or other newsworthy events.
Coordinates special events such as sponsorships, scholarships or “celebrity visits” to build alliances, improve staff morale and to promote an environment of learning and continuous improvement.
Prepares speeches for Company’s senior executives or other high-profile officials.
Provides support with the delivery of all Company’s programmes and initiatives.
Supervises Corporate Communications Unit.
Assists in enhancing the knowledge base of the Unit by documenting and storing historical information and lessons learnt in the execution of the work of the Unit, to inform future initiatives and efforts.
Identifies training needs and makes recommendations for training and other appropriate developmental interventions, during the annual budgetary process, to ensure that provisions are made for the required professional/technical training and to facilitate capacity building.
Sources and secures relevant and advanced technological tools and equipment and other relevant resources, including hardware and software, through applied procurement guidelines for the effective execution of duties.
Prepares status reports on the work plans of the Department, in accordance with standard operating procedures, to allow for a review of set targets and objectives, facilitate decision-making and to ensure accountability.
Performs any other job-related duties as may be assigned.

Ability to hold meetings, public education and other activities directly in communities island-wide, on an ongoing basis.
Ability to speak fluent English and Creole.
Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Media Communication, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations with at least five (5) years relevant work experience, OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Communication, Marketing or Public Relations with at least seven (7) years of relevant experience.
