TENDERING OFFICER
JOB SUMMARY
The Tendering Officer will have practical experience in both the pre-contract and post-contract stages of construction projects. The position holder will be required to prepare forecasted estimates of material quantities needed for project implementation in addition to the preparation of tender documents and other documents. In performing the job functions the TO will be required to demonstrated use of his/her knowledge and skills in the preparation of tender/bidding documentation. In support of his/her M & E contribution create feedback reports for the estimating, contracting, procurement, production and accounting departments.
KEY DUTIES
Bidding/Tendering Process
Preparation of bidding/tender documents for projects under Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, European Union, United Nations Office of Project Services (UNOPS) including but not limited to the following tasks:
Preparation of qualification information forms
Preparation of Technical proposal – Site Organization, Key Personnel, Construction Schedule/Work Program, Method Statement.
QUANTITY SURVEYING:
Detailed Quantity Take-off for Building and Civil Works using Standard Methods of Measurement (NRM, SMM5/6/7, CESMM7);
Preparation of Bills of Quantities for Building and Civil Works;
Using AutoCad for taking off quantities;
Preparation of valuations for ongoing projects;
Rate build-up and analysis.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
A University Degree or Associate Degree in Quantity Surveying;
A minimum of three (3) years’ proven experience and knowledge of procurement procedures and policies of international lending institutions (Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, European Union, United Nations Office of Project Services (UNOPS);
Analytical mindset, with exceptional problem-solving skills and a keen eye for details;
Innovative thinker capable of utilizing non-traditional approaches to bidding/tendering processes;
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight, sometimes conflicting deadlines.;
Ability to multitask, excellent team player and ability to work in a multinational environment;
Self-motivated; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products and other related software;
Ability to work smoothly in a team with organizational efficiency.
SERVICE TECHINICIAN
The Position holder with a comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment and tools will in collaboration with the sales department manage the work order process: opening jobs, quotations, invoicing, audit, delivery; turn repair requests into service orders and scheduling servicing/repairs. Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions recording customer feedback. The position holder will be required to coordinate the deployment of rented tools and equipment to off-site locations; Ensure that Work Orders (WO) are adequately supported by customer invoicing and/or customer’s payment before completion of work or delivery of machine/equipment. The duties will require ensuring adherence to health and safety practices as well as maintaining adequate levels spare parts inventory in collaboration with the purchasing department. The applicant’s work experience must include a clear description of your experience in order to determine if you meet the required skills.
Requirements:
Up to date knowledge of heavy equipment and tools related to the construction sector;
Detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple items simultaneously;
Broad range of technical knowledge of construction tools & equipment;
Team player with excellent customer service coordination skills;
Strong interpersonal, problem solving & communication skills;
Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite;
Valid driver’s license.
SMALL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
The Small Tool/Equipment Repair Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing light to medium duty power tools, hand tools and small engines as well as assisting with preventive maintenance inspections as needed. Included in the job holder’s responsibilities is the identification of causes of malfunctions, troubleshooting problems, dismantling of tools, and examination and replacement of defective parts.
Responsibilities also include but not limited to:
Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary;
Oils and lubricates moving parts on tools/equipment to ensure effective performance;
Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members;
Physical ability to move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise;
Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment;
Availability must be flexible to the needs of the business;
Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills;
Organized and detailed oriented;
Experience using a computer.
