Position – Draftsman
Position Purpose: This role involves the issuance of Designs and methods drawings as per the set standards and QHSE Policies.
Location: Vieux Fort, St. Lucia
Principal Functions:
- Prepares Designs, means and methods drawings on the construction methods, sequence of works, temporary works, formwork definition as well as lifting operations and logistic issues, including scaffolding and accesses
- Prepares the Mechanical and Piping Designs, and liaises with the surveyor for correct implantation of the equipment in the building and on slabs.
- Ensure that all the requirements from partners and any parties are met and that no objections can be provided to the permanent construction
- Ensure that the drawings are developed using the workflows set in designs and documentation procedure
- Ensure that those drawings are compliant with the required standards by using designated softwares (AutoCAD, 2D, 3D and Autodesk Civil 3D)
- Work closely with other departments, engineers and suppliersIntegrate quality and safety measurements and prevent any risks in the execution methods and sequence drawings
- Report about the progress of the design development
- Circulate the drawings to the design or construction team for their further review and upon review, integrate the received comments through issuance of reviewed drawings
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience as Draftsman in the construction industry and in infrastructure works, preferably on large infrastructure projects
- AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D software experience is required
- Expertise in Formwork, Work Sequences and Construction Methods, and Mechanical/piping designs drawings
Preferred but not an obligation:
- Previous experience in Multicultural environment
