EDUCATION CONSULTANT
Overview:
World Education, Inc. (WEI) seeks a qualified Education Consultant for the USAID-funded ConnectEd project in Saint Lucia. This project uses a positive youth development (PYD) approach to improve the digital literacy of middle and high school teachers and students while helping youth build sought after skills in today’s job market. The project is a two year initiative that is implemented by WEI on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science Technology and Vocational Training.
Based in Saint Lucia, the Education Consultant will work full time (35 hours per week) under the supervision of the Education Manager to coordinate project activities, explore opportunities for collaboration with partners, liaise with World Education’s Home Office in Boston and together with the Education Manager, ensure successful project implementation.




Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate in-country education activities and partnerships
Support the Chief of Party and Education Manager in cultivating strategic relationships with the Ministry of Education, USAID, team members, global and regional institutions, donors, private sector entities, government ministries and other stakeholders for the smooth implementation of project activities
Support the planning and preparation for project stakeholder meetings including the ConnectEd Coalition, Youth Led Advisory Board and the Employers Network
Support the Education Manager in reviewing plans for teacher training, advising on best practices for supporting the needs of teachers in Saint Lucia
Provide support to teachers in the design and implementation of strategies to integrate technology in classroom instruction, including evaluation of teacher-created resources
Facilitate exchanges amongst teachers though forums, platforms and other communities of learning
Support the development and convening of webinar training sessions for educators
Support project research activities
Tailor all project activities to the Saint Lucia context
Assist in the development or refinement and contextualization of digital learning tools and educational materials
Leverage field support to build the capacity of technical assistance providers at local institutions, as relevant
Prepare technical reports as required by the donor and stakeholders
Collect monitoring and evaluation (M&E) data




Duration of Assignment:
The engagement with World Education Inc will commence on February 1, 2023 and will remain in effect until September 30 2023.
Duty Station
The consultant will be assigned to the World Education Inc -Saint Lucia ConnectEd project team housed within the Ministry of Education’s Curriculum and Materials Development Unit (CAMDU), Morne Fortune, Castries, Saint Lucia
Qualifications:
Must be committed to the positive development of youth
Bachelor's Degree or higher in education, international development, business administration/project management, social sciences, or a closely related field is required
At least 3 years of management experience in projects involving multiple partners
Experience working in Saint Lucia or the broader Caribbean region on education programming
Demonstrated expertise working with host-country government officials and policy makers
Experience developing curriculum and teaching and learning materials preferred
Experience in conducting Action Research projects preferred




Strong communications and interpersonal skills
Saint Lucia nationals are strongly encouraged to apply
