True Value Building & Hardware Supplies – Receiving/Inventory Clerk
Our company is seeking a Receiving/Inventory Clerk who will assist in the receiving of all goods coming into the company, along with management of on hand inventory. The Receiving/Inventory Clerk will also be responsible for troubleshooting order issues with suppliers and will lend support to the Purchasing Department. Qualification and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 CXC passes including Mathematics and English Language
  • At least 2 years’ experience in data entry
  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Retail Management system a plus

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive products from vendor deliveries and unload trucks
  • Check goods received from suppliers against delivery notes and invoices.
  • Deliver invoices to appropriate personnel
  • Supervise the moving of shipments and/ goods into appropriate locations for stocking or back-stock, keeping pathways clear
  • Ensure exterior storage bay doors are locked and secure when not in use
  • Ensure only authorized personnel enter receiving area
  • Count and verify received materials
  • Update the product inventory as products are received and added to our inventory
  • Input stock items into System
  • Record and check quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders (Compare packing lists to company purchase orders and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list)
  • Communicate discrepancies in materials with Purchasing Manager
  • Organize and manage inventory control of materials received
  • Collaborate with Sales/Marketing department to develop a schedule for assembling and displaying manufacturer marketing pieces on the sales floor
  • Assist Sales Department in merchandising of received goods on Sales floor in a timely manner
  • Assists and work alongside other departments
  • Package products for return to vendors and fill out any paperwork necessary prior to the shipment being picked up
  • Knows and Adheres to Quality Standards for customer service as outlined by Management.
  • Adhere to all guidelines around product recommendation and information

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices and department manual
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment
  • Use of box cutters and ladders
