JOB DUTIES
As a Manufacturing Engineer Trainee you will provide technical assistance and evaluation of the manufacturing line.
During your training and after completion some of the duties are as follows:
Learn to operate highly technical paper converting and packaging equipment by operation of equipment, study of machines abilities, attending training sessions and on-the-job training.
Perform automated equipment set up functions and monitoring equipment.
Learn necessary adjustments, change overs and repairs.



Recognize problems with the manufacturing line by monitoring control panels and outputs to determine problems may affect the operation of the line and quality of the product.
Learn troubleshooting, diagnosing, and formulate resolutions effecting production flow.
Improve productivity by performing evaluations and assist with upstream and downstream flow analysis.
Assist with production line process analysis and training.
Exposure to Quality Control process and understand fundamentals of testing and quality variables
Learn how to provide assistance to the line by using resources for technical assistance and troubleshooting.
Root Cause Analysis procedures
Assist with plant safety programs.



QUALIFICATIONS
An Engineering degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Automation, or Robotics.
Knowledge and ability to safely work with electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and rotating machinery
Physical ability to stand, bend, twist, stoop for up to 12 hours and lift up to 25 lbs
Ability to work a rotational schedule including overtime (nights, days, weekends)
Job Responsibilities
During shift change, talk with the outgoing operator to communicate machine issues.
Be able to operate a fork lift to supply raw materials and other vital supplies to the line.
Complete CILs (Clean, Inspect, and Lubricate) at the given time depending of the plan of the day.



Document issues/defects on the defect board.
Communicate issues/defects with your Crew Lead.
Flow to work if the machine is waiting on product or downstream issues.
Keep your work area clean an organized throughout the shift.
Be able to trace and correct faults/machine defects.
Have the ability to use your skills without supervision.
Be proactive. Take control of an issue before it happens rather than responding to it after it happens.
Recommend revisions to SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures).
Demonstrate effective communication skills.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency.
Willing to work in a team based /cell environment and work a rotating shift.
Maintain machines at target speeds.



Follow the Target sheet to ensure that your machine is running at the required speed for production.
Follow all Quality procedures mandatory in the Converting department.
Set expectations for the surrounding staff to ensure we reach production.
Provide feedback to superiors to implement improvement to reach our target production.
Perform SOP's correctly to properly execute a task.
