THE NEW PHASE WELCOMES A COHORT OF PARTICIPANTS WHO WILL RECEIVE HANDS ON TRAINING IN BAKING, ETC

The Baking Two, Sharing One Initiative has entered its second phase, building on the success of a pilot programme that combined practical skills training with community service and social responsibility.

The new phase welcomes another cohort of participants who will receive hands-on training in baking, food preparation, presentation, and creativity while embracing the initiative’s core principle of sharing a portion of what they produce with vulnerable members of their communities.

The pilot phase demonstrated the programme’s ability to equip participants with practical skills while fostering confidence, empowerment, and a spirit of giving. As the initiative expands, participants will continue to apply their newly acquired skills beyond the training environment, transforming learning opportunities into meaningful acts of community engagement.

Social Transformation Officer Shalina Mann-Eleuthere, who coordinates the initiative, said the transition to a second phase reflects the programme’s positive impact and growing potential.

“The successful pilot phase demonstrated the value of combining skills development with community contribution. As we continue the initiative, our focus remains on empowering individuals with practical skills while encouraging them to create positive change within their communities,” she said.

The programme has also benefited from the expertise of Chef Shervin Eleuthere, whose guidance has been instrumental in helping participants develop their culinary abilities and confidence.

The Department of Equity, Social Justice, Gender and Older Persons also extend appreciation to all participants, partners, and supporters who contributed to the success and continued growth of the programme.

Implemented through the Community Services Unit, the initiative continues to create opportunities for skills development, self-reliance, and social inclusion while strengthening the culture of sharing and community support.

The launch of the second phase marks an important milestone for the Baking Two, Sharing One Initiative as it expands its reach and continues to empower individuals to use their skills to make a positive difference in the lives of others
