Position Title: General Services Manager (GSM)
Salary Grade is based on U.S. Mission Local Compensation Plan

Position Summary:
The GSM, in close coordination with the Director of Management and Operations (DMO), has the responsibility of the overall general services management including logistical support for the office, motorpool coordination, property management (residences and offices), shipping and customs, procurement and all other services essential to support Peace Corps’ operation in the Eastern Caribbean. This individual liaises with all vendors and works closely with management to ensure all assets are maintained and kept in compliance with US Government regulations; Maintains a safe working environment for all properties, notifies landlords as needed and keeps staff well informed of any updates. Performs casual labour as required, including the movement of furniture or supplies, and other related tasks; Performs designated back-up duties to other administrative staff members as assigned by the supervisor. S/He reports directly to the DMO.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in following budget allocations and asset inventory; effective in cost-cutting measures
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English
  • Excellent customer service and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft products with experience in Excel, word and Outlook
  • Very organized, accurate, efficient and able to balance priorities
  • Solution oriented and resourceful in problem solving; ability to work independently
  • Cultural awareness for both local island and US cultures
  • Ability to perform casual labour as required, including the movement of furniture and supplies
  • Conducts self professionally at all times, treating colleagues in a respectful manner that enables effective teamwork
  • Current valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record and the ability to operate a standard transmission
  • Minimum of a High school diploma. Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Desired experience in US government procurement practices and vendor management
  • POSITION WILL BE SUBJECT TO SECURITY CHECK CLEARANCE
