Media Release: Taiwan’s Navy Squadron to Pay Goodwill Visit to Saint Lucia

The Midshipmen Cruising & Training Squadron’s mission includes training and goodwill visits to Taiwan’s diplomatic allies

The 2026 Midshipmen Cruising & Training Squadron (MCTS) of the Republic of China Navy, led by Commander RADM Chen Ming-Feng, will visit Saint Lucia from Sunday, April 12, 2026 to Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

The Midshipmen Cruising & Training Squadron’s mission includes training and goodwill visits to Taiwan’s diplomatic allies. This year, their voyage has started from the Pacific to the Caribbean to strengthen the close and enduring friendship between Taiwan and its diplomatic allies through cultural exchanges.

The vessels will arrive in Port Castries on Sunday, April 12, 2026. On Monday morning, April 13, an official welcome ceremony will be hosted at the Pointe Seraphine Pier in Castries, followed by a Squadron Performance from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. featuring a marching band, an honour guard parade, and martial arts demonstrations. The performances will be open to the public.

Members of the public will also be invited to board and visit two of the three vessels from 11:30a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The flagship is a fast combat support vessel and the other one open for viewing is a guided missile frigate.
