Vacancy - Accountant
A leading luxury Goods retailer in St. Lucia is seeking to recruit a mature part-qualified individual for the position of Accountant The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial management and reporting, and performance monitoring of the company.
Special Requirements and Key Competencies
- BSc in Accounting or ACCA Level II or other equivalent qualifications with minimum of three years experience in a similar position
- Knowledge and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Competent in use of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks software
- Ability to work on own initiative and meet strict deadlines
- Very good analytical an problem solving skills
- Very good written and oral communication skills
- Must have high degree of accuracy and be detail oriented
Principal Responsibilities
- Maintain Fixed Assets register and reconcile with GL
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reports for all companies
- Maintenance of vendors’ accounts and payments
- Liaise with all relevant governmental agencies and financial institutions
- Coordinate work related to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company’s financial records
- Preparation of year end financial accounts for all companies
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns on a timely basis
- Assist with budget preparation and mid-year updates
- Forecasting and management of cashflows
- Preparation of Group Accounts
- Familiarity with Anti-Fraud and Anti-Money Laundering Procedures
