Job Title: Driver
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Driving of company vehicles (including trucks) to be used in
The delivery of goods and other products
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Secondary School Education
- Passes in CXC in Mathematics and English
- Safe driving record
- Two (2) years Warehouse operational knowledge would be an asset.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years driving experience
- Valid driver’s license with endorsements for B,C,E
- Defensive driving certificate
SKILLS AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good customer service skills
- Team player
- Able to work flexible hours
- Polite, patient and friendly
- Able to work under pressure (especially in peak periods)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring that the correct goods are loaded into the truck (quantity and size), this is done by physically checking goods against invoices
- Any errors in picking and loading are highlighted and corrected before goods are packed into the truck
- Customer received goods they ordered by checking goods against invoices with him or his representative.
- Any breakages or damages discovered when goods are being delivered to customer, are properly recorded and the correct documentation filled up.
- Any other problem arising are communicated speedily, (use cell phones to call Warehouse)
- Route is planned so as to ensure the minimum amount of time to do deliveries
- Employee drives with care and caution to ensure damages are minimum for products in his truck
