Summary
Caribbean Grains Limited is a local manufacturer of both white and whole wheat flour and animal feed. We are currently seeking a Mill Manager who will be responsible for bringing the mill to maximum capacity and making sure that it is sustainable. The incumbent is responsible for the entire production facility, ensuring that all qualitative and quantitative targets are met.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Plan, control and coordinate all production operations at least cost, consistent with quality and food safety demand
  • Oversee the process for receiving raw materials from vessels to Flour Mill or Feed Mill
  • Manage the storage of raw materials fumigation of grain and assignment of grain to correct silos in compliance with protocols
  • Ensure the wheat process is managed in compliance with protocols and with minimum dust pollution
  • Liaise with the Purchasing and Dispatch Officer to ensure deliveries ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Liaise with Quality & Safety Officer to ensure site hygiene standards are met and health and safety requirements are maintained
  • Oversee fumigation of the Mill, silos and containers as required
  • Oversee routine maintenance on machines
  • Manage and motivate production staff
  • Liaise with the Human Resources Manager to ensure the on-going training of relevant employees
  • Liaise with the Inventory Officer to ensure excellent stock control and reconciliation of all production costs (labour, energy, mill sundries)
  • Play an active role within the HACCP team
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • An Associate degree or equivalent in Milling, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role
  • Must have a proven background in mill management and operations
  • In-depth knowledge of and proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Excellent people-management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
  • Ability to negotiate, establish and process contracts
  • Ability to prioritize and mange time efficiently
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to approach and interact with persons at all levels
