VACANCY NOTICE - Accounts Officer III
Invest Saint Lucia (ISL) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, results-oriented Accounts Officer III to provide support to the Accounts Department by supporting the internal day to day financial operations of Invest Saint Lucia.
You will be part of a team of professionals working together to maintain order and transparency of the company’s finances by ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of payables.
The Accounts Officer will report directly to the Accountant and the Senior Manager, Finance and Administration.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process approved purchase requests for all departments and follow up with responsible officer(s) to ensure invoices are obtained and entered correctly into the respective ACCPAC module.
Verify that the approved procurement guidelines are met for all purchases and process purchase requests to ensure that resources are maximized.
Review and process all payment requests weekly or as necessary.
Record cheques and notify creditors when they are available.
Reconcile various expense accounts monthly as assigned by the Accounts Supervisor.
Maintain files relevant to duties performed.
Prepare weekly cash flow report.
Reconcile creditors’ statements to accounts payable sub-ledger and all other bank accounts.
Prepare petty cash reconciliation statements for assigned petty cash.
Obtain and reconcile all utility bills to ensure prompt payment, including preparing schedules for all utilities.
Prepare audit schedules as needed.
Prepare daily deposit promptly for submission to the bank.
Ensure that the fixed asset register is kept updated.
Prepare LPO’s for the various departments.
Reconcile and prepare VAT payment monthly.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Professional accounting qualification – ACCA Level 2, AAT, CAT.
BSc/ BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience in an accounting field with at least five years’ experience in a similar role.
Excellent organization skills and great attention to detail.
An analytical acumen to manage finances and data.
Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and best practices.
Outstanding customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
Ability to prioritize work and function in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
Knowledge of computer skills, MS Excel (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, and using advanced formulas)
Willingness to be flexible with hours of work as required.
