SENIOR RTW/COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVERS
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Senior RTW/Commercial Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting and making
deliveries of bulk and retail petroleum.
Key Responsibilities
Operate delivery vehicles in a safe manner while carrying out duties as directed by the
Operations Supervisor.
Assist in carrying out the functions of the Operations Supervisor when required to do so.
Report all accidents to Operations Supervisor in a timely manner.
Assist the Operations Supervisor during tanker discharge and other related functions.
Assist the Operations Supervisor in overseeing the performance of other drivers.
Conducts daily operations and maintenance checks on assigned company vehicle for
roadworthiness before dispatching.
Inspects equipment for safety problems, leaks, or wear and tear as well as makes
recommendations for appropriate repairs.
Transport and deliver petroleum products to various customers.
Ensure proper recording of inventory.
Assist in keeping the plant terminal and surrounding area clean.
Coach and mentor Plant attendants and other drivers when the need arises and/or
instructed by Operations Supervisor.
Wash and ensure that all vehicles and well maintained and cleaned at all times.
Ensure all damage to vehicles are reported in writing to Operation Supervisor.
Accurate collection of payment for product delivered.
Ability to maintain and implement safety policies and procedures and best practices for
sampling and quality assurance.
Ensures that all SOP’s are followed through.
Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma in technical skills training or certification in auto mechanics or truck driving.
More than 5 years of experience in operating a delivery/commercial truck or equipment.
Must possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license
Experience in the Petroleum Industry will be an advantage
OTHER RELEVANT SKILLS
Ability to operate and maintain assigned vehicle in a safe and efficient manner knowing
that the products being delivered are highly flammable and require extreme care and
attention.
Ability to complete daily and weekly reports for all activity of the terminal plant including
distribution of fuel products, etc.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Awareness of the importance of safety in Plant Terminal.
Ability to be a team player and positive attitude.
Ability to operate fire equipment.
Mechanical Skills will be an asset
