Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the post of
Deputy Executive Director, St Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture.
The selected candidate will be required to deliver high quality business support and
development services to members of the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and
Agriculture, in alignment with the Chamber’s mission, vision, core values and strategic
objectives.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong organizational and interpersonal
skills, committed to fostering relationships and driving the Chamber's mission forward.

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE : DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
REPORTS TO : EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY

The Deputy Executive Director will play a pivotal role in the administration of the Chamber,
ensuring seamless operations and effective delivery of member services and programs.
This role emphasizes membership recruitment and retention, information and
communications management, including social media engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Advocacy & Representation
1.1. Support the delivery of effective, structured Strategic Advocacy and Representation
Services for Chamber Members.
2. Membership Services Leadership
2.1. Develop and deliver responsive, high-quality membership services that will lead to:
2.1.1. Membership Growth;
2.1.2. High member retention;
2.1.3. Valuable benefits and services for members;
2.1.4. Enhanced member education, networking and engagement;
2.1.5. Financial viability and sustainability for the Chamber.
2.2. Responsible for effective Chamber Administration in the following areas:
2.2.1. Support the Executive Director in managing the operations of the Chamber
Secretariat;
2.2.2. Drive the execution of effective membership development strategies;
2.2.3. Apply the Chamber Engagement System to promote participation and ensure
Chamber members’ interests are represented effectively.
2.3. Responsible for Representation and Advocacy on behalf of Chamber members:
2.3.1. Attend and represent the Chamber at local and international meetings,
conferences, committees and boards as required;
2.3.2. Support the Executive Director in delivering strategic advocacy services on
behalf of Chamber members.
2.4. Economic Analyses & Policy Review:
2.4.1. Conduct legislative, economic, business, trade and investment analyses and
prepare policy papers to inform the Chamber position and interests on key
issues;
2.5. Research & Reporting:
2.5.1. Supervise and direct the implementation of surveys commissioned by the
Chamber;
2.5.2. Analyze data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for policy
or advocacy efforts.
2.6. Program Delivery & Sustainability:
2.6.1. Lead the delivery of high impact programs that align with members needs and
Chamber goals;
2.6.2. Ensure programs contribute to the Chamber’s financial sustainability and
long-term success.

Qualifications
▪ Master’s degree in economics or related field;
▪ 5-10 years of experience working in a field of economics and/or business management
▪ Strong understanding of international trade issues and their impact on local and regional
economics;
▪ Strong Team Management and Leadership Skills;
▪ Experience in Policy Analysis and applying economic analysis tools will be an added
advantage.

▪ Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities;
▪ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
▪ Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders;
▪ Advanced economic analysis and research skills;
▪ Experience in policy advocacy and international trade issues;
▪ Proficiency in organizational systems and data driven decision making.
