The Windward Islands (WINERA) Packaging Co Ltd - Accountant
GENERAL PURPOSE
To advise Management on all accounting matters and be responsible for the day to day operations of the Company’s financial, accounting, costing and credit procedures.
SCOPE
The person filling this position will comply with the company’s accounting systems and procedures and remain up-to-date with accounting, statutory and regulatory standards to produce management and financial accounts for the organisation.
FUNCTIONS
- To prepare and analyse monthly accounts for review by Management
- To assist in the preparation of annual budgets
- To assist in the review on a regular basis of the Company’s costing system and assist Management in updating such system to ensure effective and realistic pricing and costing of the Company’s goods and services
- To assist in the design, implementation and monitoring of effective systems of internal checks and control as they relate to accounting and financial procedures and control of the Company’s assets
- To review price quotation and costing and ensure compliance with procedures and parameters approved by Management
- To supervise the functions of Accounting staff and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures and the timely and accurate performance of allocated duties
- To assist in reviewing and monitoring cost centres on a regular basis to ensure effective cost control of the Company’s resources and to monitor variances from planned activity
- To direct, train and assist personnel under your direction in the understanding of accounting and data processing
- To monitor Bank Accounts, Accounts Payable and Receivables, Goods in Transit, Expenses and Revenue Accounts, Inventories including Finished Goods, Work in Progress, Roll Stock, Raw Material and Spare Parts
- To perform such other related accounting, costing and financial functions as would normally come under the jurisdiction of an Accountant.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA,CGA or equivalent)
OR - A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of Level II Professional Accounting
- Three to Five years experience working in a Supervisory Position would be considered an asset.
