OAS – WESTERN UNIVERSITY IN ONTARIO, CANADA 2018 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Description:

The Organization of American States (OAS), through the Department of Human Development, Education and Employment (DHDEE) and the Western University through the OAS Partnerships Programme for Education and Training (PAEC), are offering scholarships to qualified candidates of the Americas to participate in its undergraduate and Non-professional Graduate programmes.

The modality of the programmes is onsite at the Western University, Canada and the language of instruction is English.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this scholarship opportunity, an applicant must:

be a citizen and/or permanent legal resident of Saint Lucia;

submit a complete online scholarship application to OAS with all the required supporting documents;

provide OAS with an admission letter from Western University. (This scholarship opportunity is open to new applicants as well as current students from OAS member states who are not an OAS-Western scholarship recipient.)

not be an OAS staff or individual who maintains employment contracts with the OAS or a staff of a Permanent Mission to the OAS or immediate relatives of a staff of a Permanent Mission to the OAS; and

not be a current OAS scholarship holder.

BENEFITS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

Undergraduate programme

The University shall provide a scholarship award in the amount of 10% tuition fee, applied directly to the scholarship recipient’s account in two separate installments, 5% in the first year of enrollment and 5% in the second year of enrollment.

Scholarship recipients are eligible for consideration for the University Admission Scholarships as defined on the University’s Office of the Registrar website.

Non-professional Graduate programme

The University shall cover the total tuition cost of Scholarship Recipients enrolled in non-professional/course-based master’s Programmes or a research doctoral Programme, and for research doctoral programmes shall also pay these Scholarship Recipients CAD $13,000.00 each year they are enrolled in the Programme of study. (This funding comes from a variety of sources, including direct funding from the supervisor/graduate programme and/or teaching and research assistantships)
