Constructive dialogue has paved the way for a new agreement between the National Workers Union (NWU) and Millennium Heights Medical Complex (MHMC), following a successful process facilitated by the Department of Labour, Co-operatives and Consumer Affairs.

The two parties formally signed the agreement on August 12, 2026, bringing to a close a lengthy but amicable process of discussions aimed at addressing workplace concerns and finding solutions that were acceptable to both sides.

The process was facilitated by Labour Officer Ms. Sabrina Nicholas, who welcomed the successful outcome and underscored the importance of collaboration in resolving workplace matters. “This agreement demonstrates what can be achieved when both employers and workers are willing to come to the table, listen to each other and work towards practical solutions. The Department of Labour remains committed to facilitating constructive dialogue that promotes fairness, understanding and harmonious industrial relations,” Nicholas explained.

Representatives of the NWU and MHMC expressed satisfaction with the outcome, describing the agreement as an important step in strengthening the relationship between the two parties. The signing also signals a shared commitment to maintaining open communication and a positive working relationship as the parties move forward.

The Department of Labour, Co-operatives and Consumer Affairs continues to encourage employers and employees to utilize dialogue, negotiation and conciliation as effective mechanisms for addressing workplace concerns and building stronger industrial relations.
