BRITISH CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2019/2020

Description: The Department of Education, Innovation and Gender Relations wishes to inform that the British High Commission has announced the opening of the British Chevening scholarship scheme for the academic year 2019/2020.  Applications are now being accepted online from Saint Lucian nationals who wish to pursue fully funded postgraduate studies at academic institutions in the United Kingdom.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS

An Applicant Must:

  • be a citizen of Saint Lucia (a Chevening Country) and should not be a British Citizen (although dual nationals will be considered on a case by case basis);
  • return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended;
  • have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK;
  • have at least two years work experience (this may be up to five years for fellowship programmes, so please refer to your country page for further details);
  • apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 12 July 2018;
  • meet the Chevening English language requirement by 12 July 2018;
  • not have previously studied in the UK under a UK Government-funded Scholarship.
