Unicomer (Saint Lucia) Ltd – OECS Human Capital Manager – OD/Projects
Unicomer (Saint Lucia) Limited is seeking a OECS Human Capital Manager – OD/Projects to provide support to its OECS & Caribbean Region Human Capital Division. The incumbent will be required to implement and drive key Human Capital Initiatives/Projects for our business unit and provide direct support to Regional Human Capital Manager- Caribbean Region. In this role the incumbent will contribute to strategy development and execution on Organization Development and key Human capital projects, including planning, reviewing, monitoring and enforcing associated policies/procedures in order to attain agreed objectives. This position will be based in St. Lucia.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Lead the execution of Organization Development Initiatives and HC Projects to maximize business results and engagement plans to ensure positive organizational climate
- Review, update or draft as necessary, key Human Capital policies and procedures, ensuring they are current , aligned to best practice and ensure business compliance is maintained
- Support the recruitment and onboarding process and activities for senior management positions aligned with legal requirements and company standards
- Support Change Management initiatives and in collaboration with RHCM identify appropriate change strategies and HR services required to influence behavioural change and achieve desired business culture
- Contribute to development of HR Strategic Plan and Budget, monitor activity, spend and key HR metrics (e.g. headcount, cost per employee and attrition) that support analysis and business decisions
Personnel Specifications
Qualification & Experience
- Post Graduate Degree in Human Capital Management, Psychology or related field as well as HR Certification (MCIPD, SHRM)
- 5 – 7 years relevant experience Human Capital leadership experience in a world class retail organization
- Experience proactively identifying HR opportunities and working in partnership with management to execute against an HR strategy, strong knowledge of and ability to implement organizational best practices
- Experience supporting multiple sites with operations in various islands would be an asset
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Must possess in-depth negotiating, influencing, decision-making and consulting skills
- Must be able to develop solutions to a wide range of highly complex problems, which require an in depth degree of ingenuity, creativity and innovation
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Human Resource legislation/employment law, principles, policies and procedures
- Must be able to exercise judgement and in most instance independently determine and take appropriate action within defined HR polices and procedures
- Ability to conceptualize, plan, organize and prioritize projects and achieve results
- Strong HR Business partnership skills and Commercial Acumen
- Demonstrates a strong knowledge of organization change/culture transformation process, and deal with changing situations; experience in driving organizational development and talent management initiatives
- High level of computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the use of databases and Human Capital systems
- Numerical and budgeting skills; strong analytical skills with experience in data collection and analysis
