Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Strategic Planning Manager, Water & Sewerage Company Inc. (WASCO).

To assist in the planning, organization, direction, and supervision of the Strategic Planning Department and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.




Duties and Responsibilities:

 Support the development of the long – term organizational strategy inclusive of the infrastructural development planning;

 Forecasting water and other related demands;

 Identification of key development areas and provision of conceptual designs of networks to respond adequately to forecasted demands;

 Presentation of findings, concepts, projections and recommended actions;




 Liaising with the Design & Construction Services Department and other relevant departments for the detailing conceptual designs to include preliminary costings;

 Liaising with third parties for the proper envisioning of infrastructural development;

 Develop project charters;

 Establish and maintain a comprehensive asset management plan for WASCO;

 Any other job-related duties.




Required Skills/Abilities:

 Expertise in project management;

 Excellent understanding of business operations and procedures;

 Strong organizational and planning skills;

 Strong leadership skills; Ability to understand and articulate complex water and wastewater industry ideas;

 Strong communication skills;




 Good verbal, written and presentation skills;

 Experience working with Executive Leadership;

 Expertise in working with corporate strategy, technology, and program management;

 Knowledge analyzing industry trends and conditions to inform various strategies;

 Technical competency with a broad understanding of the technical issues and ability to keep up to date with new appropriate technology silks;

 Extensive knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Products;

 Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change;




 Ability to lead through influence and to deliver results through others;

 Should possess a high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and ability to work well under pressure;

 Good collaboration, prioritization, and team working skill;

 Should be creative in approach to problem – solving and possess the ability to focus on details while simultaneously maintaining the “big picture” view;

 Knowledge of Project Management Program and GIS;

 Knowledge of Hydraulic Modeling Program;




Education and Experience:

 MBA/MSc in Business Management, Project Management, Economics, Engineering or related field plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Strategic Planner for a company or division of a corporation requiring project management and executing on multiple priorities is preferred;

OR

 BSc. in Business Management, Economics, Engineering, Project Management or related field plus 7+ years of experience as a Strategic Planner;

Project Management Certification or a Certificate in Quantitative Research Analysis would be an asset
