Water & Sewerage Company Inc (WASCO) - Electrical Engineer
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Electrical Engineer, Water & Sewerage Company Inc (WASCO).
The successful applicant will form part of a team of engineers and work towards achieving the following objectives are to:
- Plan, design, construct and proactively help manage and optimize the operation of all WASCO structures and facilities necessary to provide safe and clean potable water;
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of technical guidelines, standards, policies and statutory requirements for electrical components of Wasco infrastructure;
- Provide electrical engineering technical leadership for engineering matters across the organization;
- Ensure a satisfactory level of technical capability within the team;
- Develop and manage projects;
- Administer Works contracts
Requirements:
- Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of international standard forms of engineering contracts (FIDIC) would be an asset.
- Knowledge of CDB/World Bank standard procurement guidelines would be an asset.
- Ability to manage and review the work of subordinates and promote and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the organization;
- Experience in the provision of concept and detailed design of electrical installations;
- Experience in personal execution of novel, complex and critical engineering investigations and designs in electrical engineering;
- Training in water supply and wastewater systems or environmental management would be an asset;
- Experience in operating as a subject matter expert in Electrical Engineering providing technical guidance and support to team members;
- Must be proficient in the use of computers for models and spreadsheets;
Qualifications & Experience
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 3 years of post-qualifying experience.
Preferred additional qualifications; Post-graduate qualification in Management, Water Services Management, Environmental Engineering or Project Management.
Remuneration
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The post is a contractual position, with renewable fixed-terms.
