The Tapion School Board of Directors seeks an exceptional leader for the role of School Principal.

Your accomplishments must exemplify that you have a strong record of performance as an
educational leader and can lead in all areas of education as demonstrated by your own commitment to children and their development. You must demonstrate the ability of being current and relevant in 21st century education best practice which will enhance and sustain an environment of continuous learning as well as professional development for your staff.
Your record must demonstrate that you can work collaboratively with all members of the school community and your staff.
You must possess strong communicative skills with the ability to reach parents, members of the community, and colleagues in other schools creating a positive network to enable the growth of the school. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for planning, instruction and curriculum development, program evaluation, discipline systems to ensure a safe and orderly environment, extracurricular activities, personnel management, financial management, community/public relations, emergency procedures, resource scheduling and facilities operations.
Essential to your selection will be a teaching qualification and prior experience as a teacher, a graduate degree and/or equivalent work experience for a minimum of 7 years, and/or a post graduate qualification in Education Administration/Leadership or the equivalent experience for a minimum of 5 years. Experiences in Early Childhood education as well as a private school setting would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities of the Role include:

  • Executing the School’s vision and strategic plans
  • Leading the planning, organization and coordination of the Curriculum and Extra Curricular Activity Program to provide comprehensive and well-rounded development meeting the needs of all students.
  • Managing the staff and driving performance to the highest standards
  • Directing all aspects of the School’s administration and daily operations
  • Ensuring that the school’s plant is conducive for learning and teaching.
  • Ensuring compliance at all times to the School’s policies, regulations and procedures •
  • Maintaining school records in accordance with best practice standards for record keeping
