Restaurant Server

Role Summary

Accountable for serving guests in the most efficient and friendly manner, whilst anticipating needs and making recommendations

based on customer preferences. He/she ensures guest satisfaction through cordial guest interaction and adhering to F&B Sequence

of Service standards.

Duties & Responsibilities of the position

 Welcomes and bids farewell to guests

 Interacts with guests enquiring about food preferences and making suitable recommendations

 Takes and serves orders, noting special requests

 Follows established service standards and Sequences of Service

 Minimizes wait time for seating by ensuring fast and efficient resetting of tables

 Stocks service station with utensils, condiments, napkins, etc.

 Sets up for special functions or reserved seating as assigned

 Ensures restaurant is kept clean, tidy and presentable during service hours

 Follows established opening and closing procedures

 Facilitates flexibility in established opening and closing times. Restaurants may begin serving fifteen (15) minutes prior to opening and

finish ten (10) minutes after closing time

 Assists colleagues in clearing tables and providing service in stations other than his/her designated station

 Assists with beverage service when necessary. May recommend wines providing descriptions, pairing options and observing guest

preferences

 Ensures that established sanitation and HACCP procedures are followed

 Supports environmental program, ensuring all lights, A/C and other electrical equipment are turned off when not in use

 Ensures familiarity with fire, hurricane and safety procedures and his/her individual responsibility

 Performs any other duties assigned

Qualifications and Experience

 High School Leaving Certificate/Diploma

 Vocational/technical training or equivalent apprenticeship
