Media Release: Saint Lucia records 31 new cases of COVID-19

FOLLOWING 43 RECOVERIES, THE NUMBER OF ACTIVE CASES IS 338.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs today Thursday, October 28, 2021, confirms a total of thirty-one (31) new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 257 samples which were collected between October 26 and October 27, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 12.1% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in-country to date to 12, 517.



Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 43 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in-country to 338. Currently, one (1) individual is critically ill and seven (7) others are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.
To date, a total of 36,704 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 31,729 have received the second dose. A total of 14,062 individuals have received the first dose and 9,098 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Vaccinations will continue tomorrow Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Vigie Sports Complex, La Fargue Wellness Center, Jacmel Wellness Center, Gros Islet Human Resource Center, Soufriere Hospital, St. Anthony Medical Center in Sunny Acres, Castries, Inno Care on Clarke Street, Vieux Fort, Vieux Fort RC Parish Hall, Dennery Mothers’ Preschool, Micoud Multi-purpose Center and the Babonneau Multi-purpose Center. Vaccinations are scheduled for distribution at all sites from 9 am to 5 pm.
