PRIME MINISTER CHASTANET EXPRESSES GRATITUDE TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS FOR THEIR EFFORTS.

A charitable donation of over $450,000 in support of well deserving causes and organizations was made recently, with funding raised from the Prime Minister’s Independence Ball.

Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Hon. Allen Chastanet, expressed gratitude to the staff of the various charitable organizations for their efforts and hard work.

“I am so inspired by the people of this country who continue to remind me how resilient we are because I know there is something in common with all the groups here. Despite the shortage of funding, you find a way to continue, and the thought of giving up never happens.”

Beneficiary organizations included the Cornerstone Humanitarian Society, the Cerebral Palsy Association, The Lady Gordon Opportunity Centre and the Blind Welfare Association.

Linda Preville, Principal of the Lady Gordon Opportunity Centre, said the donations received will assist the center with ongoing projects.

The handing over ceremony took place at the Office of the Prime Minister on Thursday, May 23.
