FLORIDA, United States, Monday March 19, 2018 – One of the six people killed when a pedestrian bridge collapsed at Florida International University (FIU) in the United States has been identified as a Jamaican, Navaro Brown.
The 37-year-old died in hospital after being injured when the bridge collapsed onto a bustling roadway in Miami last Thursday.

Michael Biesiada, a spokesman for Structural Technologies, did not say what Brown was doing at the time of the collapse but said he was “working on the project providing installation support for our products”.
The Jamaican was the second deceased identified, after FIU student Alexa Duran was named as the first victim. The others who perished were: married father of three, Brandon Brownfield; Rolando Fraga Hernandez; Oswald Gonzalez and Alberto Arias.
FIU held a moment of silence today at 1:47 p.m., exactly four days to the minute after the bridge collapsed.
