The incumbent will support the Engineering department in ensuring that all machines are continuously restored to basic conditions and is responsible for the building, installing and maintenance of all automated machinery and equipment on the Plant.




Key Job Responsibilities:
Identify failure modes and undertake repairs (first time right) on all electrical/electronic/PLC faults of all machines, equipment and installations in the safest possible way.
Perform input and output loop testing, wire tracing and identification of wire components following diagrams, prints and ladder-logic drawings.
Detect errors in equipment based on its mechanical, electrical hydraulics and pneumatic qualities.
Liaise directly with suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues and where applicable acquire material quotes and place orders with spare parts department.
Coordinate and assist equipment manufacturers and suppliers with on-site installations of all Company equipment.
Prepare technical documentation and instruction materials to be used by operators and other team members.
Provide training and technical support whenever necessary to line operators.
Generate work requisitions where applicable for work order planning and processing.
On time and in full execution of all assigned maintenance work orders.
Ensure all aspects of 5s and TPM methodologies are fully embedded in day-to-day Engineering activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Industrial Manufacturing technology
At least 2 years’ experience in manufacturing industry with related experience
High Computer Literacy (AutoCad, Microsoft Office Suite)
Valid driver’s license would be an asset




SKILLS
Functional knowledge of general plant and equipment management
Electrical/ electronic engineering knowledge to include PLC applications, Allen Bradley and Siemens systems
Knowledge of TPM, Six Sigma or any other lean manufacturing methodology
Team oriented
