An employment opportunity exists at the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort for the post 2nd Commis Chef.Job Summary:
Experienced, creative 2nd Commis Chef. Applicants must be knowledgeable of food preparation, be in good health and be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Skills and Attributes:
Assist and support the Sous Chef in the preparation of different foods.
Ensure that food sanitation, safety and food handling functions are practiced
Must read and execute daily prep lists.
Communicate well with the team and supervision to ensure everyone is informed properly.
Maintain quality and proper presentation of food to meet and exceed departmental standards.
Assist other junior kitchen staff in ensuring that the kitchen is clean at all times.
Assist junior staff in daily mice en place, hygiene and sanitations standard. Must ensure is compliance with the sections standard.
Keep supervision on junior staff on a timely basis of any undue variance from expected results.
Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
Must have the ability to be productive for long periods of time.
3 - 5 years’ experience in the hotel industry or large restaurant chain is required.
