Position Description: Spa Manager
Reporting to:

Scope of Role

This full-time role is an exciting and rare opportunity to shape and launch a world-class
wellness space and spa in one of St Lucia's top luxury resorts. Reporting directly to the General
Manager, the Spa Manager will drive and lead the operational and financial direction of the spa
ensuring complete viability and maximizing all opportunities and resources. This role demands
establishment and adherence to the highest standards to ensure that the guest experience
exceeds expectations. The Spa Manager will work closely with the Hotel General Manager and
business team to establish and maintain marketing objectives, operating criteria, programming,
budgeting, VIP guest visits, staff relations, and training. The role also requires the Spa Manager
provide high quality therapeutic treatments for guests as needed.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Finance & Commercial
Oversee the overall management and performance of the Spa, ensuring high standards of professionalism, customer service, and optimal financial performance.

 In collaboration with the Finance department, prepare monthly financial and statistical
reports for the Hotel General Manager, including proposals and recommendations
regarding spa policy and operations, competition, occupancy and usage, market share,
and achievement of targets.
 Monitor spa performance through KPIs, linking results with sales and marketing
activities provided by ESPA.
 Establish and ensure a cost-effective wage structure based on productivity and efficiency.
 Develop an annual budget and business plan for the Spa in conjunction with the Hotel
General Manager and finance department, ensuring achievement and regular review of
the business plan and budget.

Sales & Marketing
 Collaborate with hotel Sales and Marketing teams to prepare and develop the annual
marketing plans. Coordinate all promotional plans and projects for the facility.
 Integrate the Spa effectively within the Hotel Marketing Strategy, ensuring ongoing
representation of the Spa both internally and externally.
 Lead the planning and implementation of marketing activities within the Spa, with
support from the Hotel.
 Conduct regular competitive analysis to stay ahead in the market.

Team Building and Management
 Identify and build a world-class Spa team. Provide leadership, direction, and support to
Spa employees to develop a highly motivated team capable of delivering high standards
of service in all areas. Establish a highly positive atmosphere and culture.
 Develop an annual training plan with spa supervisors, ensuring all employees are trained
and developed to meet the business's needs.
 Apply best practices to all employee-related issues, ensuring adherence to all Hotel HR
policies and procedures.
 Motivate, encourage, and drive the team, maintaining the correct level of professional
and qualified personnel and overseeing all spa facilities and activities.
 Instigate progressive, professional, and well-organized training and assessment of staff,
conducting performance appraisals as required. Oversee weekly schedules, attendance
sheets, and manage sick leave and holiday arrangements.

Guest & Hotel Relations
 Ensure guests are treated like treasured family, anticipating needs and exceeding
expectations.
 Create and maintain relations with spa guests and members through an active presence in
spa reception and other key guest areas.
 Collect guest feedback from hotel surveys and communicate with the team.
 Hold regular meetings and establish strong relationships with key Hotel departments such
as Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.

Duty Management/Operations
 Perform Duty Manager Duties as required.
 Ensure the facility is adequately manned at all times.
 Ensure that the spa is maintained and presented to the highest standards at all times.
 Responsible for Opening/Closing Procedures when on duty.
 Perform and deliver exceptional treatments to guests of the spa, as needed.
 Set an example at all times in standards of professionalism, attitude, and appearance as
required from the staff.

Health, Safety & Hygiene
 Conduct regular Health and Safety reviews to ensure the spa meets legal requirements.
 Be responsible for the health and safety of employees and guests in the Spa, adhering to
guidelines and procedures outlined in the Health and Safety Manual.
 Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility at all times.

Candidate Requirements
The candidate for the Spa Manager position must have excellent interpersonal skills and at least 2 years of experience working in a luxury hotel or Resort as a Spa Manager or Spa Supervisor. This experience should include managing others, leading a team, and implementing high standards of service and guest satisfaction.. Experience and responsibility for finance and operations. All candidates must be licensed by St Lucia Allied Health Council. They must have excellent therapist training credentials and able to demonstrate excellent skills and knowledge of current products and practices. This is a full-time role requiring a 40-hour work week. Candidates must be available for up to 2
weeks of paid, full-time training Sept 16-30th.

Compensation
A competitive base salary along with bonus and commission will be offered to the right
candidate commensurate with candidate experience. There is also a strong benefits package
including a continuous training program.
