A leading Saint Lucian Supermarket is looking to fill the vacancy of STORE MANAGER/SENIOR STORE SUPERVISOR. The successful candidate will be expected to manage and supervise the operations and HR functions of the supermarket in conjunction with senior management.
Overall Job Responsibilities:
Work with senior management to:
Formulate and execute strategic initiatives;
Formulate pricing policies;
Ensure that optimum inventory levels are maintained;
Improve sales and store profitability;
Organise and train supermarket staff.
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
Formulate and communicate new ideas to senior management;
Generate reports for senior management on the progress of initiatives and activities at the store;
Manage all matters relating to customers, inclusive of queries and complaints, in conjunction with senior management;
Establish and maintain good rapport with existing and potential customers;
Anticipate and recognise customer requirements;
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that service requirements are set and attained;
Assist with recruitment of staff for the supermarket;
Schedule, assign and monitor employee tasks with an assessment of results generated;
Play pivotal role in supermarket employee performance appraisals;
Counsel, coach and discipline employees to nurture a successful team;
Oversee stock control;
Oversee the process of expiry date management ensuring that mitigating action - inclusive of clearance sales and promotions - is employed;
Study and implement display plans, sale promotions and advertising;
Help improve the ambiance of the supermarket;
Any other duties that may be assigned by senior management.
