Position: Public Relations Manager
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Primary Functions
Responsible for managing the Saint Lucia head office public relations team and assisting with the coordination of the PR effort of Saint Lucia in its main tourist generating markets, working closely with PR reps assigned overseas. He/she is to curate content on an ongoing basis to stimulate interest in the destination and highlight the activities of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority with an effective Public Relations strategy that will assist in creating a positive public image with the local public and regional and international markets.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Media & Communications or Public Relations.
Postgraduate qualification in Public Relations, Media & Communications or Journalism
Experience working in the field is required
The Public Relations Manager should display a high level of maturity and be able to interact and maintain good relations with stakeholders at all levels. He/She is expected to be capable of directing and supervising a team. He/She must participate in the Authority’s overall strategic planning process and advise management regarding media responses and relations. He/she should be adaptable and possess excellent communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of digital media is required. Knowledge of tourism would be an asset. The capacity to work long hours, including weekends and travel away from home is mandatory.
Remuneration: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
