Job Summary

Required to manage minor, moderate and complex projects including the selection and management of consultants, fee negotiations, programming, cost estimating, site analysis, preparation of construction documents, document review, budget and schedule, construction administration and close-out.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the activities of the Project Services Department in accordance with company policy
• Undertake project conceptualization, project planning, project development, project management and construction as required
• Provide technical and advisory services on acquisitions, construction and leasing of properties
• Manage capital repairs for buildings and other works
• Maintain up-to-date records of all project activities being undertaken and submit fortnightly progress reports on activities of the department
• Ensure that all contractors implement projects of standards established by NIPRO
• Ensure that the work environ as well as practices relating to projects under the management of NIPRO are safe and are in accordance with the labour laws of St. Lucia
• Manage employee grievances and disciplinary matters of the department
• Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer from time to time

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Knowledge of research methodology, common information sources, principles, practices and techniques uses in planning and design and project/construction management
• Knowledge of effective public relations techniques and ability to work closely with the agent of the owner in order to achieve the owner’s goals and objectives
• Ability to demonstrate skill in using computer software to design basic construction projects
• Ability to maintain records and prepare narrative, statistical and financial reports on project feasibility and status
• Ability to conduct critical analysis of proposed construction projects and prepare effective reports of analysis, results and recommendations
• Ability to establish priorities, develop the budget and set realistic project schedules
• Ability to prepare requests for proposals, establish consultant selection criteria and make appropriate consultant selection decisions
• Ability to monitor contract compliance with consultants and contractors
• Possess valid driver’s license

Qualifications & Experience

• A post-graduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Specialized training in Project Management
• 8 years working experience with at least 6 working at the supervisory level
• A comprehensive understanding of economic forces at work in the real estate market
• Experience in project management methodology, managing multiple projects and procurement management

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
