Media Release: Third charter departs for Canada under SAWP

A TOTAL OF 52 WORKERS LEFT THE ISLAND ON JULY 16.

Fifty-two Saint Lucians have arrived safely in Canada to take up employment under the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Programme.

The delegation left the island on Thursday, July 16, along with workers from St. Kitts and Nevis, and Dominica. They will be employed on farms in various provinces for a maximum of two years.

The Government of Saint Lucia expresses gratitude to the Canadian Authorities, farm owners, the Eastern Caribbean Liaison Service and all other stakeholders who make these opportunities possible.
