PREVIOUS INFRASTRUCTURAL ISSUES ADVERSELY AFFECTED OPERATIONS.

The Ministry of Home Affairs and National Security hosted a handing over ceremony and media tour of the newly-renovated Soufriere Police Station, earlier this week.

The revamp occurred as a result of mold infestation which adversely affected the operations of the police station.

Parliamentary Representative for Soufriere, Hon. Herod Stanislaus, expressed hope that the renovations will inspire the officers to give of their best.

“This is your second home and I urge you to take care of it as if it was your own,” Minister Stanislaus said. “Permit me on behalf of the Government of Saint Lucia to express gratitude for your fearlessness, relentless efforts, contributions to national development, and the safety and security of our citizens. We will continue to work with you and support you every step of the way.”

Commissioner of Police, Severin Moncherry, exressed gratitude to the people of Soufriere for their cooperation during the temporary relocation of the Soufriere Police Station.

“We need to thank Almighty God for helping us so that this project came through without injuy. I also want to thank the Police Welfare Association for being patient during the time that the station was under construction,” Commissioner Moncherry said.

The refurbishing of the Soufriere Police Station was facilitated by the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation. Minister for Home Affairs and National Security, Sen. Hon. Hermangild Francis commended the SRDF for ensuring the renovations were successfully completed.

The hand-over ceremony and media tour of the Soufriere Police Station took place on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
