Media Release: Ministry of Health collaborates on health fair

FOSTER AND INCE CRUISE SERVICES AIMS FOR A HEALTHIER WORKFORCE.
by Miguel Mauricette, Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health and Wellness recently partnered with Foster and Ince Cruise Services to host a health fair.

While the health fair was in compliance with World Diabetes Month, the organization took a holistic approach.

Heidi Khodra, Family Life Educator in the Ministry of Health, said: “The workforce is one of the biggest communities and we always encourage business places to make health a priority for their staff. With a healthy workforce, there is productivity. Foster and Ince Cruise Services, from the inception, thought it was a really good initiative and this is their first health fair, so they’re excited. And we can see the staff are coming out.”

Some of the health services offered on the day included dental, HIV, diabetic, and breast examinations among others.

Tour operator Nell Ernest explained the reason for the partnership.

“We deal with the international market,” she said. “The guides are very busy so we wanted to bring this to them. We teamed up with Ministry of Health for the health fair because today was a quiet day, so the staff can come and get all the information they need.”

Ernest added that family goes beyond just the household. She applauded Foster and Ince Cruise Services for its innovative approach.
