Media Release: List of Approved Areas for National Training

THE LIST INCLUDES THE PRIORITY TRAINING AREAS FOR WHICH THERE ARE SKILLS SHORTAGES IN VARIOUS SECTORS.

The Department of Education, Innovation and Gender Relations has received several queries from the public with regard to the Government of Saint Lucia List of Approved Areas for National Training 2018 -2021. In light of this, we wish to provide the following explanation on what is known locally as the priority list.

The Government of Saint Lucia List of Approved Areas for National Training includes the priority training areas for which there are skills shortages in the various sectors, and of the relevant stakeholders involved in national human resource development. It serves as the major guide to:

nationals interested in pursuing studies at various levels;

the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development in processing of applications for various scholarship and economic cost awards;

and financial institutions in the processing of student loans.
