THE PROGRAMS ANNOUNCED IN THE 2019 BUDGET WERE DISCUSSED.

The Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture continues to facilitate engagement with key government officials at various levels, on issues of importance to its members.

Consequently, the Chamber organized another event in its Series of Encounters. This time, members had the opportunity to have a one on one engagement with the Hon. Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Allen Chastanet. The Chamber requested that the prime minister provide an update on the many economic issues and programs announced in the 2018/2019 budget. The prime minister was joined by Teo Ah-King, the developer of the Pearl of the Caribbean DSH project.

The Chamber Encounter Series is a key program for debate, dialogue, definition and understanding of economic and social issues of interest to the institution. The event was also part of the celebrations of Global Entrepreneurship Week and Business Month.

The encounter was held at 4 p.m. on Nov. 15, at the Palmville Conference Room, Coco Palm Hotel.

The Chamber is, meanwhile, planning for its 134th Annual General Meeting scheduled for Nov. 28, where a panel discussion on the theme “Invigorating the Local Investment Climate” will be held.
