Media Release: Canaries Community Festival this weekend

by CDF
CANARIES WILL BRING TO THE NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL, A TASTE OF WHAT THE WEST COAST FISHING VILLAGE HAS TO OFFER.

The Events and Production team at the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) is finalizing plans with the organizing committee from Canaries as the fishing village gets set to host this year’s community festival, one of the activities of the annual national Arts Festval (NAF).

Over the years, communities including Gros Islet, Vieux Fort, Babonneau and Micoud have hosted the annual extravaganza, infusing their unique twist to the festivities.

This year, Canaries will bring to the National Arts Festival a taste of what the west coast fishing village has to offer. Visual artists will display their creations for two days in an all-day walk-through market (10 a.m. – 8 p.m.) on the Canaries Multi Purpose Court.

On April 15, performance artists will thrill and entertain in a star-studded concert, which is set for 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
