INTER-AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR COOPERATION ON AGRICULTURE (IICA) - Technical Specialist (St. Kitts & Nevis)
POSITION: Technical Specialist, Delegation of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Objective of the Position: To manage the IICA National Agenda for the delivery of technical cooperation services for the development of agriculture in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Purpose: To provide technical and other support for the implementation of the IICA Medium Term Plan 2018 – 2022, as defined in the approved Annual Action Plan for the Eastern Caribbean States in general, and particularly for Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Duties:
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Agriculture and other stakeholders impacting on agriculture and rural development in order to assess, evaluate and elaborate the National Agenda and to prepare and manage the Annual Action Plans and Budget.
- Provide technical support as requested to the IICA National Agendas of the IICA Member Countries of the Eastern Caribbean States.
- Other duties as may be defined in the Terms of Reference of Technical Specialists.
Qualifications:
- University degree in agriculture or related area, postgraduate degree or other form of graduate studies in the same areas would be an asset. Formal training or proven working experience in matters related to agriculture, project development, and management, agri-business development and rural development.
- At least five (5) years work experience in planning and implementing projects in the area of agriculture and the rural milieu.
- Ability to work with the full range of stakeholders in the agriculture sectors (policy makers producers and exporters).
- Good computer, presentation and technical writing skills
Remuneration: Salary is negotiable and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
