Flow - Accounting and Control Manager

The Accounting & Control Manager will support the Finance Manage in the financial reporting and control functions of the business. Specifically, this would include the management of the accounts payable and general ledger accounting functions, the month end close process and liaison with the Finance Shard Service Centre as well as cash, bank and treasury related matters. The role would also include responsibility for ensuring processes and controls are in place and are adequate for SOX compliance and are appropriately documented, routinely reviewed and tested. This role will also be expected to deputise for the Finance Manager as and when required.
This position requires a strong technical ability and good commercial understanding of the business and telecommunications industry. The successful candidate is expected to work cross-functionally in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities include:
  • Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are reviewed and signed off in line with month end process
  • Control journal entry process
  • Complete the monthly and quarterly Hyperion submissions
  • Manage the accounts payable team and process and ensure vendors are paid in line with payments terms
  • Responsible for enforcement of company purchasing policy and compliance
  • Research and analyses balance sheet and reconciliation discrepancies; and processes appropriate correction transactions
  • Responsible for the period closing process to facilitate timely and accurate analysis and commentaries on monthly and annual performance
  • Key contact for inquiries and data requests from internal and external auditors as well as any other internal stakeholder ad-hoc information requests
  • Examines accounting data for accuracy, appropriateness and documentation
  • Custodian of accounting policies, standards and processes, including Order to Cash and Procure to Pay
Qualifications and Experience
  • Preferably qualified accounting professional with at least five years PQE
  • Experience in financial reporting or accounting positions ideally in competitive and fast-moving business and preferably in telecoms
  • Experience with SAP, SAGE and Hyperion would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulately present and explain financial matters to non-financial colleagues
  • Confident and comfortable when with executives, senior level management, external partners and stakeholdes
  • Solid time management skills and ability to work with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Highly flexible style to meet the needs/expectations of all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering against competing deadlines and priorities
