Title: Senior Accounts Clerk

Job Summary
Under general supervision, to do varied and complex clerical accounting work in connection with interpreting and processing financial records, or in reviewing and verifying a wide variety of complex data regarding financial record keeping activities; and to do related work as required.
Job Duties
  • Reviews and verifies financial transactions.
  • Posts various financial transactions to accounts, journals, ledgers.
  • Maintains appropriation, expenditure and revenue records.
  • Reviews accounts for proper payments and charges.
  • Balances, resolves, reconciles discrepancies between payments, receipts or various accounts.
  • Processing payroll
  • Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the finance department.
  • Any other duties assigned.
Education
Tertiary Education – CAPE/Associate Degree in Accounting
Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Working knowledge of automated and manual bookkeeping systems.
  • Working knowledge of methods, practices and terminology used in accounting clerical work.
Experience
At least 4 years’ experience in the Accounting field

Title: Junior Accountant

Job Summary
Responsible for the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations.
Job Duties
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Complete general ledger operations.
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts.
  • Coordinates payments to local and export suppliers in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinates payroll activities.
  • Verifies all raw materials received for quantity ordered, quantity received, weight prices with corresponding invoices and other purchases.
  • Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Account/bank reconciliations.
  • Aassist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
  • Trains and develops subordinate personnel to achieve their highest levels of productivity.
  • Documents financial transactions accurately and on a timely basis (both soft and hand doc trails)
  • Reports all discrepancies, omissions and other anomalous transactions for further instructions.
  • Any other duties assigned.
Education
Tertiary Education – BSc Accounting
Skills
Attention to detail and accuracy, planning and organizing, scheduling and monitoring, initiative, adaptability, team work, confidentiality.
Experience
At least 3 year’s experience in the Accounting field
