JOB TITLE: Night Manager Job Description
SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE: The Night Manager is the Senior Manager on Duty and responsible for all hotel operations during overnight shift hours, focusing on Front Office operations, night audit, guest and hotel safety/security, always ensuring a professional and high-quality service.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Assistant Resident Managers
RESPONSIBLE FOR: All Hotel operations at Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain & Night Shift team
LIAISES WITH: Night team, Security, Maintenance , Night Auditor
PRE-REQUISITES:
To have an outgoing, energetic and friendly personality
High sense of responsibility
Must be willing to work weekends.
Able to work independently
Need to walk the property
Able to work under pressure.
Strong Organization skills
Able to Multi-task.
Physical stamina for standing long hours
Must always be well groomed.
Must be willing to work extended hours when there is a need.
Deliver excellent customer service and attend guest inquiries.
Adherence to Company policies and procedures
Actively participate in any training and personnel exercises and remain current in all updates with regards to new procedures designed to improve standards and performance levels.
Work in accordance with standard procedures within each department
Keep staff/work areas tidy, safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management
Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life-safety procedures.
MAIN DUTIES:
Receive hand over of the operation from the departing evening Duty Manager.
Do an extensive walk of the property including all office areas, restaurant outlets, storerooms, boutiques and ensure all areas area properly secured.
Check conference room facility and IT Office areas to ensure all is properly secured.
Ensure that an entire property walk is done, accounting for broken light fixtures and burnt bulbs and work with the overnight MTC to have them replaced immediately, especially if in the public areas.
Ensure that all public guest areas are properly lit and any vulnerable areas are reported to MTC on shift immediately.
Follow up on guest accounts who are departing the following day to ensure all is in order.
Be fully aware of the guest/staff emergency procedures and activate when necessary.
Be aware of the Power Outage S.O.P and ensure the night team is always prepared when such situations arise.
Ensure that the night security team are all alert and ready to respond to any emergency situations or intruders.
Manage, plan and control the Night team to ensure a standard of service and adherence to the guidelines set in the employee handbook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training and correcting where needed.
Cover switchboard if requested by management and ensure telephones are answered in a speedy and professional manner with an appropriate greeting.
Deal with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner always ensuring guest satisfaction
See off any early morning departures.
See off all early morning activities like the Piton Hike and ensure that the taxi is available on time to receive clients at 6:30am.
Ensure the restaurant is well cleaned and prepared for breakfast for the early morning.
Ensure that the Night Manager’s report is fully completed and added to the Duty Managers’ report.
