The Government of the Saint Lucia joins with the rest of the Caribbean Community in mourning the passing of Ambassador Angela Missouri Sherman-Peter of The Bahamas. Ambassador Sherman-Peters was a consummate diplomat who served The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) with distinction as the former CARICOM Permanent Observer to the United Nations until her retirement.
Ambassador Sherman-Peters formally served as the Chef de Cabinet to the Presidency of the Fifty-Eighth Session of the United Nations General Assembly under the Presidency of Sir Julian R. Hunte of Saint Lucia. She was also the Assistant Director of the Political Affairs Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat.
She also served the Government of The Bahamas as Consul General in New York, Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, High Commissioner to Canada, Non- Resident High Commissioner to Zimbabwe and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Special Envoy.
