An employment opportunity exists at the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort for the post 2nd Commis Chef.

Job Summary:

Chef. Applicants must be knowledgeable of food preparation, be in good health and be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Skills and Attributes:

 Assist and support the Sous Chef in the preparation of different foods.
 Ensure that food sanitation, safety and food handling functions are practiced
 Must read and execute daily prep lists.
 Communicate well with the team and supervision to ensure everyone is informed properly.
 Maintain quality and proper presentation of food to meet and exceed departmental standards.
 Assist other junior kitchen staff in ensuring that the kitchen is clean at all times.
 Assist junior staff in daily mice en place, hygiene and sanitations standard. Must ensure is compliance with the sections standard.
 Keep supervision on junior staff on a timely basis of any undue variance from expected results.
 Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
 Must have the ability to be productive for long periods of time.

Qualifications:

 3 - 5 years’ experience in the hotel industry or large restaurant chain is required.
