The Community Services Unit within the Department of Equity, Social Justice, Gender and Older Persons has recognized 20 dedicated fathers from the Canaries community as part of a special Father’s Day initiative celebrating their contributions to family and community life.

The initiative, undertaken in partnership with Cacoa Sainte Lucie, one of Saint Lucia’s most notable locally owned agro-processing and artisan chocolate companies, honored fathers from various walks of life, including fishermen, farmers, bus drivers and other hard working men whose efforts help sustain and strengthen the community.

As part of the celebration, the fathers received gift boxes of locally made chocolates and were treated to a complimentary three-course Father’s Day lunch courtesy of Cacoa Sainte Lucie.

Social Transformation Officer for the Anse La Raye and Canaries district, Lyncia Antoine, said the initiative was designed to recognize the often-unsung contributions of fathers and male role models.

“This initiative is about showing appreciation to the men who work tirelessly to support their families and contribute to the development of their communities. Fathers play a vital role in building strong families and vibrant communities, and it is important that we take the time to celebrate their efforts,” Antoine stated.

The initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to community development, social inclusion and family strengthening, while highlighting the important role fathers play in shaping the social fabric of Saint Lucia.

The Ministry of Equity extends its sincere gratitude to Cacoa Sainte Lucie for partnering in this meaningful initiative and helping to make Father’s Day a memorable occasion for these deserving fathers.

Based in Belvedere, Canaries, Cacoa Sainte-Lucie specializes in producing small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolates using Saint Lucian cocoa and has evolved into a broader chocolate tourism and manufacturing experience.
